Greetings of Peace!

'Sanad' is an Arabic word meaning "chain of transmission". To Muslims, this word represents a special connection with the Prophetic Messenger of God: Muhammad , and those special people to whom he passed down sacred knowledge, who in turn passed it down to others... May God allow us to benefit from them. (Amin!)

The name of this website (Sanad) is in honour and appreciation of this great part of the Islamic Tradition - 'the Sanad'.

Whenever we find ourselves connected to great 'ulema (scholars) and awliya (saints), it is a great blessing from Allah.

When talking about a piece of calligraphy (that reads 'Sanad' in Arabic) that hangs in our madrasa, a Teacher once said that it should remind us that there are (learned) people who are there to support us. Whenever we get stuck, there are people who we can ask for help.
